I Am Here To Listen

I provide a safe and supportive space where you can talk freely, understand yourself better, and make positive changes.

Taking The First Step Is Courageous

Life can be unpredictable, but together, you can choose how to respond to its challenges.

Confidential, person-centred counselling

Welcome to Supportive Counselling

Supportive Counselling offers a compassionate, safe space to help you navigate life’s challenges, with a specialism in neurodivergence. In a FREE consultation, you can see if my approach fits. Together, we’ll work through your concerns and find a path forward.
Offering face-to-face (York, North Yorkshire) online, and phone counselling, I tailor my support to your needs, helping you navigate your world with more confidence and clarity. Let’s work together to help you embrace your strengths and uniqueness to create a life that truly works for you.

My compassionate, non-judgemental approach will help you find acceptance and reclaim your power of choice, giving you the tools to navigate whatever life brings your way with confidence and clarity. Taking that first step is courageous, and I’m here to support you through it.

Areas I Work In

With a specialism in working with neurodivergence I also offer counselling for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, family issues, and low self-confidence. My approach is tailored to help you navigate life’s challenges, whether you’re dealing with trauma, autism, bereavement, stress, or just feeling overwhelmed and sad. I provide compassionate support for improving mental health through methods like Person-Centred Therapy, Humanistic Therapies, and Mindfulness.

I work with clients facing OCD, PTSD, social anxiety, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, and work-related stress. My services also extend to those struggling with anger management, loneliness, or challenges like health anxiety, perfectionism, or phobias. I have experience supporting individuals with neurodiversity, and those going through separation, divorce, affairs, betrayals, or abuse (emotional, physical, or sexual).

I also offer LGBTQ+ counselling, help with dissociation, sexual assault, and support for bipolar disorder, and postnatal depression. If you’re coping with chronic illness, career stress, childhood trauma, or disabilities, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space.

Whether you’re dealing with grief, miscarriages, infertility, menopause, or even eco-anxiety, I’m here to help. Sessions are available face-to-face, online, or by phone, giving you the flexibility to talk when and where you feel comfortable. Together, we’ll work towards healing and positive change.

When working with neurodivergent clients – including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, DCD, or dyscalculia – I offer support whether you are pre-diagnosis, post-diagnosis, or have chosen not to pursue a diagnosis. My focus is on helping you better understand yourself, find self-acceptance, and discover clearer paths forward.

I work with all people from age 16+, believing that seeking help during difficult times is a sign of strength. I have supported many clients in overcoming limiting beliefs and traumatic experiences, empowering them to achieve positive change.

Free Consulation

I offer a FREE no obiligation 20-minute consultation via phone or online. Reach out for an informal chat and ask any questions you might have. Finding the right counsellor is crucial, and there’s no pressure to book an appointment.

Thank you for helping me heal and showing me a way forward. I never understood the value of an olive branch and the importance of boundaries before. You’ve increased my self worth and I’m forever grateful.

Recent Questions

What happens in the free consultation chat?

We talk about what has made you decide to look for counselling and what you would like to get from it. This helps us see if counselling is the right thing for you. You can ask as many questions as you want in this call, and if you want to book in, you can, if not you can go away and think about it. There’s no pressure or expectation for you to book straight in at the end of the call.

What do I do if I need to cancel?

If you need to cancel a session, please let me know as soon as you can. I do not charge for a cancellation that has been made over 24 hours prior the session. If you notify me in less than 24 hours prior to the session that you can’t attend the session fee will still apply.

Will counselling with you be recorded in my medical history with my GP?

Your contact with Supportive Counselling is completely confidential, and we don’t inform your GP that you’ve had counselling with us. The only exception would be if we ever had serious concerns about your safety or the safety of others. Even then, we would handle the situation with great care and involve you as much as possible in any decisions.
