Recent Questions

What happens in the free consultation chat?

During the free consultation chat, we talk about what has made you consider counselling and what you’re hoping to get from support. This helps us understand whether counselling feels right for you and which approach may suit you best. You’re welcome to ask as many questions as you like, and there’s no pressure to book a session straight away. You can take your time to think things over and decide at your own pace.

If you’d like to explore different ways of working before the call, you can learn more about face‑to‑face sessions, online counselling, telephone counselling, or one‑to‑one support.

What do I do if I need to cancel?

If you need to cancel a session, it’s helpful to let the counsellor know as soon as you can. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the session time are not charged. When a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full session fee still applies, as the time has been set aside for you.

If you’re thinking about rescheduling, you can explore different ways to meet, including face‑to‑face sessions, online counselling, telephone counselling, or one‑to‑one support, to see what feels most manageable.

Will counselling with you be recorded in my medical history with my GP?

Counselling with Supportive Counselling is completely confidential, and information is not shared with a GP or added to medical records. The only exception would be if there were serious concerns about someone’s immediate safety or the safety of others. Even in those situations, any steps taken would be handled with care, transparency and as much involvement from you as possible.
