Counsellor | York | Children, Adolescents & Adults | Face-to-Face, Online & Telephone
I offer a calm, supportive space where you can slow down, talk things through, and feel heard without judgement. Therapy with me is steady and unhurried, and we go at your pace, helping you make sense of things and find a more grounded way forward. Many people value having time each week that’s just for them, away from the pressures of work and family life.

I work with adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck or emotionally exhausted. Many are balancing a lot in midlife and may look like they’re coping, while feeling very different underneath. I have particular experience supporting men who may be carrying pressure quietly, often balancing work demands, family responsibilities and unspoken expectations, and who don’t often have space to talk.
I’m also a specialist counsellor for young people aged 11+. Before training as a counsellor, I worked as a teacher in a range of roles, which gives me a strong understanding of the pressures children, young people and staff experience within education. I understand how challenging this stage of life can be, with anxiety, friendship issues, school pressure and low self-esteem all being common. Some young people find it hard to talk about how they feel, so I use creative tools like games, sand tray and conversation cards to help make things easier. We always go at their pace, and talking is always welcome too.
My work is neuro-affirming, which means I offer a space where you can be yourself and feel accepted as you are. Together, we explore what works best for you, building understanding around how you think and feel, and finding ways to manage life that feel supportive and realistic.
I also have experience in bereavement support, working with care and sensitivity to help young people navigate grief and loss.
When working with me, clients often say they feel listened to and less alone. Over time, therapy can help you feel clearer, lighter and more able to cope with what’s going on in your life.
