Rewind Trauma Therapy
Rewind Trauma Therapy
People often choose this gentle and effective approach when they want support with traumatic memories, emotional triggers or overwhelming responses. This method often helps clients explore their experiences at a steady pace. In many cases, people seek support for trauma linked to accidents, loss, medical experiences, violence, bullying, childhood events and other distressing situations, and sessions are calm, steady and shaped around your pace.
Professional Training and Experience
Kat trained in Rewind Trauma Therapy directly with Dr Muss. Because of this, she works with the method exactly as the originator designed it. She is a registered member of the International Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy (IARTT), which means she maintains regular professional contact with Dr Muss and keeps her practice up to date through ongoing training and supervision.
We are listed as an IARTT registered practitioner and are one of only two currently trained Rewind Trauma Therapy practitioners based in York.
During her time using Rewind Trauma Therapy, she has witnessed significant positive changes for many clients. For example, people who had been struggling to function due to overwhelming involuntary recall often feel more settled. In many cases, clients have regained aspects of their lives they had previously put on hold, sometimes for many years.
How Rewind Therapy Helps
Rewind Therapy helps the brain process traumatic memories in a safer, more contained way. The aim is to reduce the emotional charge linked to the memory so it feels less intrusive and less overwhelming in daily life.
Many people notice improvements such as:
- Fewer intrusive thoughts
- Reduced emotional intensity
- Better sleep
- Less avoidance
- Feeling more grounded
You do not need to go into detail about what happened. Instead, the focus is on safety, stability and emotional regulation. As a result, the process supports you in feeling more grounded and in control.
A Calm and Supportive Approach
Sessions are gentle and structured. In addition, you will be guided through each step with care and without pressure. The aim is to help you feel safe, steady and in control throughout the process.
